The Sally Hughes Schrader collection includes approximately 100 pictures of scientists at work and play during the 1920s to 1950s. There are also copies of portraits of eminent scientists from the Genetics Society in 1967. One folder contains letters to E. B. Wilson from his colleagues regarding the publication of The Cell in 1896.

Scope and Contents

The Benjamin Sonnenblick papers (1950-1996) include pictures of Dr. Sonnenblick at various ages and also some family pictures and news clippings. There are copies of drafts of a number of his published papers and reviews of articles by others. A few personal letters are included as well as a copy of Dr. Sonnenblick’s birth certificate.

Scope and Contents The collection is an eclectic mixture of various items donated by individuals about Albert Szent-Györgyi. Box 1 contains photographs and documents mostly from 1950s to 1980s. Much of the material was included in the National Library of Medicine “Profiles in Science” website. Many of the photographs are by Delbert Philpott. Scope and Contents

The Trinkaus papers comprise twenty 12" x 14" boxes and one 19" x 26" box, spanning in date from 1938 to 2002. They contain correspondence; notes and manuscripts for Trinkaus’s classic book on cell migration, Cells in Organs: The Forces that Shape the Embryo and his memoir, Embryologist; speeches; photographs; collected aphorisms, humorous essays, clippings, and cartoons; microscope slides; and multiple VHS tapes.

Scope and Contents

The collection, dating from 1882 to 1910, covers the time just before and during Whitman’s term as director of the MBL. The papers include correspondence in box one and publications and reprints box two.
